Popular philanthropist, Olanrewaju Michael George (OMG) has mourned the demise of Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji

Popular philanthropist, Olanrewaju Michael George (OMG) has mourned the demise of Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji, who passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

Oba Adetunji joined his ancestors in the early hours of the day at the Intensive Care Unit of the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a press statement released on Monday, January 3, OMG, who’s the founder of Olanrewaju Omo George Foundation (OOGF), which has its footprint in the ancient city, said the monarch’s death is a great loss to Nigeria, Oyo state, and the entire people of Ibadan across the world.

According to OMG, Oba Adetunji was a great bridge builder, a compassionate and highly principled personality, who stuck to his own conviction no matter whose horse is gored.

“Oba Adetunji was a highly principled personality; whenever he made you his friend he went all the way with and for you. He was a great bridge builder, whose passion for the development of his immediate community is second to none. He earned the respect of all his subjects and this made his efforts at promoting peace and to bringing peace to his kingdom, a seamless effort,” OMG added.

Charging members of the public to be reputable for good deeds, OMG stated that “death is one debt we all owe; it is inevitable. But our prayers is that when it must come, we must all be remembered for all the good things we did while on earth. Oba Adetunji was a shining example of a good natured man who is fiercely loyal to the people of Ibadan, his fellow-monarchs, and the country at large.”
