There is no doubt that government at various levels have made several frantic efforts at addressing the prevailing insecurities in our land, especially as it is now affecting our educational system in an alarming manner.
That Summit is important to us because we want to collectively discuss the several security challenges in our country and how we can consolidate on the efforts of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration, towards finding a lasting solution.

This very important security summit is an integral part of our on-going engagements with critical stakeholders on the state of security and its effect on our nation socio-economic Strive and most prominent our educational system which is badly affected. It is also crucial, that if this is not addressed, youth, student and education Development for national growth, advancement and development may end up as a mirage.
The current challenges of our security infrastructure are also our concern as Nigerian youth and all of us and not just the government must rise to this menace.

Your Excellencies, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, day in day out, our people are being kidnapped and murdered by criminal elements in almost every part of the country. From the North, to the south , schools children are been attacked and by so doing many are denied access to education. Which is more dangerous for the future of our great nation.
These incidents served as reminder that there is no room for complacency in the task of securing Nigeria, even against the backdrop of the remarkable progress that President Buhari had recorded in the fight against insecurity challenges: ranging from Boko Haram menace, farmers and herders clash, banditry, oil bunkering among others economic and social life threatening security challenges.

I cannot but also acknowledge and appreciate our security agencies who have been consistent, dedicated and determined in their renew engagement on war against insecurities in our country.

Let me close by summarizing that we need to work together and device fundamental means of ending insecurities in our country. We must intensify existing collaboration to prevent the spread of all forms violence and insurgency in our dear nation . We must avoid the dangers of allowing these insecurities menace to further degenerate to religious or ethnic conflicts. This is our responsibility as Nigerians be it youth, student, political/religious leaders and other critical stakeholders in the Nigeria project.

As we listen to several presentations on the thematic topic of this important summit, it is my wish that we have a fruitful engagement with optimism that our communique shall suggest lasting solutions to this identified problem of insecurity in our dear nation most importantly on safe campus drive for secure academic environment across the country.
