Recruitment of 5,000 Teachers in Ogun is Genuine

My cousin has informed me this morning that he got an SMS asking him to pick up his offer of employment letter at the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission office in Abeokuta.

This is a good news to me and I’m glad.

I must say that I had doubted the initiative by Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to recruit 5,000 teachers, but the presentation of offer letters to successful candidates, which went viral on social media during the week, and the SMS received by my cousin this morning gladdened my heart. I’m happy that Dapo Abiodun never asked the over 50,000 candidates to pay a dime for application. None paid N1 to apply for the job.

The days that job seekers paid N10,000 to ASCON for jobs which the majority of them would never get are gone forever. This is governance with human face. We sought no one’s help to get the job. The process was taxing: application, screening of credentials, test and interview.

Lest I forget, seeing many school buildings with yellow roofs in remote villages across Ogun is joy to behold. The governor has not inaugurated any of the renovated buildings; thus, saving public funds. The completion of the reconstruction and expansion of Atan-Igbesa-Agbara road will make me to cast my vote for Abiodun the second time.
