THE MAN WITH CAPACITY-Apst Monty Abraham, New Glory Assembly, Bayelsa State.

Sunday Sermon Summary

Topic: THE MAN WITH CAPACITY

Bible Ref: Gen 2:18; 1Peter 3:17; Psalm 123:7; 1Timothy 5:8; Eph 6:4

The man with capacity in this context could be defined as a man of Understanding, Competency and a Performer. Let me explain these three terms further.
1) Understanding: There are so many married men that do not understand what it takes to be a married man.

They are married but are still behaving like boys. So many husbands and men are abusing the sanctity of marriage; they abuse it simply because they lack understanding.
2) Competency: To be competent means to be qualified; To have all that it takes to occupy that office as a good husband. Husband is not a Title, it’s an Office.

It is the assumption and due discharge of specific responsibilities.
Do you have all it takes to occupy your office as a husband? You could be physically old enough to be a husband, but it’s way beyond that. Are you emotionally, economically and spiritually ready to occupy that office?

To be a husband is not a means for you to identify yourself as a married man, but for you to be competently capable to do what you are expected to do as a married man.

3) A Performer: As a husband you are expected to perform some certain duties, and how well you perform these duties will show whether you are a man with capacity or not, because husband is responsibility.

To become a man with capacity and perform creditably, you have to look at these topical issues:-
* Money: Fortunately people do not know practically that the god of this world is money, and if you are not careful with money you will end up serving money and making money an idol.

As a man when money enters your hand, how do you behave? Do you allow the money to get control of you? As a man of competent, when you receive your income your family should be the first people that should benefit from it. You should be able to spend on your family first, and spend also time with them.

*Women: Remember that women are so beautiful that there is no end to their beauty. So if you are moved when you see a beautiful woman, then you will always be moved until you move out of life.

One of the most expensive social engagement of a man is womanizing; it is better you have a wife that will help you plan your life, than having girlfriends that will use you to plan their lives, and wreck you to poverty.
Womanizing can also give you complicated health issues like HIV/AIDS etc.

Womanizing can make your family reject you. It will drag you away from your family, and a time will come you and your family will be like two strangers.
Genesis 2:18, “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

It is God that created family. He observed that it is not good for man to be alone that’s why He created the woman to be a helper that is suitable to the man. And this suitable woman is the wife, not the side chicks.
How do you value your family?

How Important is your family to you?
Do you have a plan for your family ( short term or long term plan)?
1 Timothy 5:8, “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
Therefore, as a husband value your family and provide for them.
