NCFront: We Are Working To Dislodge APC & PDP In 2023 — Third Force Coalition

LAGOS – The National Consultative Front (NCFront), a political movement formed by activists and political leaders averse to the current leadership in the country, on Sunday said it was working silently with the aim of wrestling power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.

The coalition, also known as the Third Force Coalition, said besides the APC, it was also committed towards ensuring that Nigeria’s major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will no longer be relevant.

The NCF last month inaugurated a 22-member merger committee ahead of the next general elections.

The committee, which is expected to provide the framework of an alternative party for Nigeria was led by former Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Aba.
Speaking with Daily Independent, NCFront’s Head of Public Affairs Bureau, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, said the movement was working with Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora to ensure that there is a better alternative to the APC and PDP in the 2023 general elections.

He said, “I don’t believe that the 2023 presidential election will be a straight fight between APC and PDP. What we have found out is that many Nigerians are tired of these two parties. What they are yearning for is a Third Force which we are providing for them.

“There are different groups in Nigeria and in the diaspora who are working silently to dislodge these two platforms. Many people who are tired of both the APC and PDP are looking for a better option to present to Nigerians.

“Now, it is left to Nigerians to make it a robust and interesting one which they can use to emancipate themselves from the shackles of these two political parties.”

On why nothing concrete has happened in the coalition with less than two years to the 2023 general elections, the NCFront spokesman said things would begin to materialise by the end of 2021.

“These processes take time and a lot of commitment. Each political party in the NCF as I said is working silently to make this dream a reality. The NCF just finished a meeting of the alliance and merger groups,” he said.
